Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, trenching, and material handling for public works projects
- Operate hand tools and light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws) safely and efficiently
- Assist in road maintenance, sidewalk repairs, and park facility upkeep
- Load/unload construction materials and equipment at job sites
- Follow safety protocols and maintain clean, organized work environments
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects on schedule
- Report maintenance issues and hazards to supervisors promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
- Experience with public works or construction preferred
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work independently
