Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, grading, and material handling for infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, saws, compactors) under proper supervision
- Assist in construction and maintenance of roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations at all times
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project timelines and resource allocation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 1 year construction/labor experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in varied conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and background check
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
