Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate machinery such as dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, and graders as required by project specifications.
- Road Maintenance: Perform manual labor tasks including paving, patching potholes, repairing sidewalks, and maintaining drainage systems.
- Utility Support: Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of water mains, sewer lines, and other public utility infrastructure.
- Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all OSHA safety standards, traffic control procedures, and on-site safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Site Cleanup: Maintain cleanliness of job sites, organize tools and materials, and ensure debris removal after project completion.
- Weather Operations: Participate in snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety and accessibility.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- License: Valid North Carolina Class C Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly, stand for extended periods, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, road maintenance, or municipal work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to read and understand technical instructions.
- Attitude: A strong commitment to teamwork, reliability, and public service.
