Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, and operating hand tools/equipment
- Assist in road construction, sidewalk repairs, and park maintenance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Operate machinery like forklifts, dump trucks, and power tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document work progress and maintain equipment logs
- Respond to emergency public works situations as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with heavy machinery operation beneficial
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
