Responsibilities
- Perform routine street cleaning, pothole repair, and snow removal operations to ensure safe and accessible roadways.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, sweepers, and plows.
- Assist in the collection and disposal of municipal waste and recyclables in designated zones.
- Monitor traffic control signals and maintain safe work zones during repair operations.
- Inspect public infrastructure for hazards, including broken water mains and debris on sidewalks.
- Collaborate with city crews to complete large-scale municipal projects efficiently and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all city safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Michigan Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform heavy manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and tools is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret safety signs and operational manuals.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
