Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, graders, and trenchers safely and efficiently
- Assist in seasonal park maintenance including landscaping, irrigation, and facility upkeep
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow removal, storm cleanup) as required
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain equipment according to city standards
- Document work activities and submit progress reports to supervisors
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Kansas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and heavy equipment operation
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Preferred: OSHA 10-hour construction certification
