Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and asphalt paving
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, trenchers) safely
- Maintain public infrastructure including drainage systems and sidewalks
- Assist in emergency storm response and debris removal
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Complete daily equipment maintenance and safety inspections
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform strenuous physical activity
- Experience with construction tools and machinery preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and flexible schedule
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
