Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, trenching, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment safely (backhoes, dump trucks, jackhammers)
- Maintain public roads, sidewalks, parks, and drainage systems
- Assist in emergency storm response and disaster recovery operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public facilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year construction/maintenance experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic equipment operation skills (backhoes, forklifts)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong commitment to workplace safety protocols
