Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, backhoes, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Conduct regular inspections of public facilities and playground equipment
- Manage waste collection and recycling operations in assigned zones
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and hand tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
