Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (sweepers, loaders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow removal, storm cleanup)
- Perform preventative maintenance on municipal equipment and facilities
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Adhere to all OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Document maintenance activities and submit timely reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and emergency situations
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
