Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery for infrastructure maintenance projects
- Perform preventative maintenance on public facilities, irrigation systems, and vehicles
- Respond to emergency service calls for street repairs and safety hazards
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on community improvement initiatives
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Participate in seasonal disaster preparedness operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or infrastructure maintenance
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, etc.)
- Proficiency in basic GIS mapping systems
- Strong problem-solving and physical stamina
- Spanish bilingual proficiency highly desirable
