Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heavy municipal equipment, including snowplows, dump trucks, and loaders.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems, electrical components, and mechanical parts of municipal vehicles and machinery.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months, ensuring safe roadways for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, parts used, and repair times.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards while on the job.
- Operate various power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software as required.
- Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to prioritize work orders and schedule repairs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance or diesel mechanics.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics, welding, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
