Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair municipal infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., backhoes, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service calls during inclement weather or public safety events
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on city properties
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Adhere to all OSHA and city safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
