Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, trucks) for landscape and groundskeeping
- Repair and maintain public infrastructure including sidewalks, street signs, and traffic signals
- Conduct daily safety inspections of work sites and equipment
- Assist with stormwater management and flood control systems
- Document maintenance activities and submit regular progress reports
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in groundskeeping, construction, or municipal maintenance
- Certification in CPR/First Aid preferred
- Ability to operate power tools and light machinery safely
- Strong physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and California environmental regulations
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
