Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers with precision and safety awareness
- Respond to emergency service calls for storm damage, fallen trees, and hazardous conditions
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety compliance checks
- Maintain detailed work logs and documentation of maintenance activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Philadelphia municipal infrastructure systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
