Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, graders, and trenchers safely and efficiently
- Inspect public areas for hazards and implement corrective actions
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and city protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
- Valid Arizona driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely
- Physical capability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
