Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (sweepers, mowers, graders) safely and efficiently
- Respond to citizen service requests within 24 hours
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Conduct safety inspections and report hazards
- Maintain accurate work logs and inventory records
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License
- 2+ years of public works or maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Clean driving record and background check
