Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure in Sacramento.
- Operate heavy machinery, including jackhammers, rollers, and sweepers, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Assist in traffic control and safety zone management during municipal construction projects.
- Remove debris, snow, and other obstructions from public rights-of-way during adverse weather conditions.
- Inspect city vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and report maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute large-scale public works projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a clean driving record are mandatory.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and strictly follow safety regulations.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with construction tools is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
