Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of municipal infrastructure, including street lights, traffic signals, and public utility equipment.
- Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment safely, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance requests and service calls within the city limits promptly.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles, tools, and shop equipment to ensure longevity and safety.
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations, city policies, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of all maintenance activities and repairs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification in electrical, mechanical, or construction trades is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related field.
- Valid Louisiana Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to read technical manuals and blueprints.
