Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, rollers, and trenchers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events
- Conduct safety inspections of work sites and equipment
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and incident reports
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of public works or construction maintenance experience
- Valid Class C California Driver's License
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience operating heavy machinery (CDL Class B a plus)
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure standards and regulations
