Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment for street/park maintenance
- Perform preventative inspections and repairs on public facilities
- Respond to emergency service requests (weather events, utility issues)
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CalOSHA, and municipal safety standards
- Coordinate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities using municipal software systems
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED + 3 years relevant maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain
- CPR/First Aid certification required
- Experience with GIS/municipal software (e.g., Cityworks, ESRI)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Clear background check and drug screening
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
