Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and drainage infrastructure.
- Operate heavy construction and maintenance equipment, including graders, rollers, backhoes, and dump trucks.
- Execute snow removal and ice control operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Inspect public parks, trails, and recreational facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance requests from citizens and city departments.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools, vehicles, and machinery.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations and City of Fort Worth policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction methods, tools, and safety procedures.
- Experience with asphalt or concrete work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed for city operations.
