Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, design, and execution of $50M+ public infrastructure projects including roadways, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Manage cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and regulatory compliance specialists
- Ensure adherence to California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal infrastructure guidelines
- Develop departmental budgets and resource allocation strategies for capital improvement projects
- Coordinate with state and federal agencies for grant applications and regulatory compliance
- Implement sustainable infrastructure solutions aligned with California's climate action goals
- Lead public engagement initiatives to ensure community input in project development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in public works or municipal infrastructure management
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale capital improvement projects
- Deep knowledge of federal/state infrastructure regulations (FEMA, EPA, Caltrans)
- Strong budgetary management and grant acquisition experience
- Certified Public Manager (CPM) or similar public sector credential highly desirable
- Experience with infrastructure project management software (e.g., Primavera P6)
