Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, execution, and monitoring of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Develop and manage departmental budgets ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including FEMA and EPA standards
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and administrative personnel
- Implement sustainable infrastructure solutions resilient to coastal environmental challenges
- Conduct regular inspections and performance evaluations of public works assets
- Represent the city in public forums, community meetings, and intergovernmental collaborations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 8 years progressive experience in public works or municipal infrastructure management
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Louisiana or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven track record managing capital improvement projects over $5M
- Expertise in FEMA compliance, stormwater management, and coastal resilience projects
- Strong budgetary and financial management skills with governmental experience
- Exceptional communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and public reporting
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean driving record
