Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems, to ensure compliance with safety codes.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation regarding project status, defects, and repair needs for engineering review.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.
- Assist in the planning and execution of capital improvement projects, working closely with engineers and contractors.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for materials and equipment used in daily operations.
- Respond to citizen inquiries regarding public works issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Enforce city ordinances and safety regulations on job sites to prevent accidents and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Vocational training or Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, inspection, or public works operations.
- Valid Nevada Class C Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in outdoor environments.
- Basic knowledge of blueprints, CAD software, or surveying equipment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
