Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, dump trucks, and asphalt equipment
- Conduct site inspections and document infrastructure conditions using digital tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams on public improvement projects
- Respond to emergency service calls during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Certification in traffic control flagging (TCP) preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GPS mapping and asset management software
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass pre-employment physical and background check
