Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, backhoes, and jackhammers safely
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events
- Conduct inspections of public facilities and document findings
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and material usage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Louisiana Class C driver's license (Class A preferred)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical exam
