Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for real-world optimization problems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into classical architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed papers and present findings at premier quantum conferences
- Develop patents for novel quantum methodologies and hardware-software interfaces
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum simulators or hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and variational quantum algorithms
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science journals or IEEE Transactions
- Proficiency in Python/C++ with quantum frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane)
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal or industry research grants
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum control electronics
