Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of city council meetings, ordinances, and resolutions
- Process public records requests within legal compliance timelines
- Manage voter registration databases and election documentation
- Coordinate with department heads for agenda preparation and meeting logistics
- Provide remote customer service for municipal inquiries via phone/email/chat
- Oversee document scanning/imaging system upgrades for hybrid workflows
- Assist with public records audits and compliance reporting
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years clerical or records management experience in government
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Knowledge of California Public Records Act and Brown Act regulations
- Remote work experience with strong self-management capabilities
- Valid California Driver's License (for occasional on-site duties)
- Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
