Responsibilities
- Collect and transport solid waste, recyclables, and yard trimmings from residential and commercial curbside locations efficiently.
- Operate heavy sanitation vehicles, including trash trucks and side loaders, ensuring safe and compliant driving practices.
- Perform manual labor tasks, including lifting heavy debris, operating compactors, and maintaining collection routes.
- Inspect collection areas for missed pickups, litter, or drainage blockages and report issues to supervisors.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of sanitation equipment and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and OSHA regulations.
- Interact with the public professionally, providing excellent customer service regarding waste management schedules.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid Louisiana Class C Driver’s License required.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen.
- Physically fit and capable of performing heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions and rotating shifts.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
