Responsibilities
- Collection & Disposal: Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to collect residential and commercial waste and recyclables along designated routes.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on refuse trucks and sanitation equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Site Cleanup: Clean up debris, spills, and litter at collection sites to maintain a professional appearance for the city.
- Community Interaction: Interact courteously with residents and customers, answering questions and resolving minor service issues.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and city policies regarding traffic control and hazardous material handling.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Driver's License: Valid Oklahoma Class D Driver's License required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50-100 lbs regularly and perform strenuous physical labor in varying weather conditions.
- Experience: Previous experience in waste management, landscaping, or general labor is preferred but not mandatory.
- Reliability: Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
