Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle for county web applications and internal systems using modern frameworks.
- System Architecture: Design scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures that meet government compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA).
- Code Maintenance: Refactor legacy codebases to improve performance, readability, and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Testing & QA: Implement rigorous unit and integration testing strategies to ensure zero downtime for critical county services.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Java or .NET (C#) and modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Databases: Strong expertise in SQL Server and experience with cloud platforms like Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
