Responsibilities
- Analyze and recommend fiscal policies for city departments
- Prepare annual operating and capital improvement budgets
- Monitor expenditures against approved budgets
- Conduct financial forecasting and variance analysis
- Develop grant funding proposals and compliance reports
- Present budget recommendations to city council
- Implement performance-based budgeting initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of government budgeting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) preferred
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience with government procurement processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Texas residency required at time of hire
