Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal record management, including vital statistics, legislative documents, and public records requests
- Manage City Council operations including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and ordinance tracking
- Supervise elections administration and voter registration processes
- Develop and implement digital archiving solutions for historical documents
- Serve as custodian of official city seals and corporate records
- Coordinate public information requests and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Lead staff training on record-keeping protocols and civic procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Advanced certification in Public Records Administration (CRA) preferred
- Expertise in Massachusetts public records law (MGL c.66) and election procedures
- Proficiency with digital records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in government environments
