Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive record management for city council proceedings, ordinances, and official documents
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for municipal officials
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Manage election logistics including ballot preparation and polling place coordination
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and the city council
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with Louisiana state statutes
- Lead public-facing services including marriage licenses and business registrations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with records management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Deep knowledge of Louisiana's Sunshine Law and municipal governance protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy in high-volume documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective public communication and conflict resolution
- Valid Louisiana Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days
