Responsibilities
- Manage municipal records, archives, and public information requests with precision
- Oversee election administration processes and voter registration systems
- Prepare official city council agendas, minutes, and legislative documentation
- Implement digital records management solutions for enhanced accessibility
- Ensure compliance with Illinois Open Meetings Act and Sunshine Laws
- Supervise clerk staff and develop departmental workflows
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official documents
- Coordinate with legal department on ordinance codification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field required
- Minimum 5 years municipal clerk or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Illinois election laws and municipal codes
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities
- Experience with public records requests and FOIA compliance
