Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official municipal records, ordinances, and council meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Process and coordinate public records requests while ensuring compliance with open records laws
- Support city council operations by preparing agendas, scheduling hearings, and documenting proceedings
- Oversee permit licensing and administrative documentation for municipal services
- Coordinate interdepartmental communications and document routing
- Train and mentor junior clerks on administrative protocols and record-keeping standards
- Implement digital document management systems to enhance operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of government or municipal administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Deep understanding of Georgia public records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven accuracy in document handling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field required
- Experience with city council meeting procedures preferred
