Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate court records, filings, and dockets in compliance with Illinois judicial protocols
- Process and verify legal documents including subpoenas, motions, and judgments with 100% accuracy
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, judges, and the public regarding case inquiries and procedures
- Coordinate with judges, court staff, and law enforcement to support daily courtroom operations
- Utilize case management software (e.g., Odyssey, JIS) for efficient record-keeping and retrieval
- Prepare official court orders, transcripts, and administrative reports with strict attention to detail
- Train and mentor junior clerks on established procedures and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of court clerk or legal administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with court-specific software (Odyssey, JIS) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep knowledge of Illinois court procedures, filing rules, and legal terminology
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, or related field required
- Notary Public certification preferred
