Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity incident response for state agency infrastructure, including threat hunting and forensic analysis
- Develop and implement advanced security monitoring protocols using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical state systems
- Design and maintain security automation frameworks using Python and PowerShell
- Collaborate with NIST and CIS frameworks to enhance state security posture
- Train state agency staff on security best practices and emerging threats
- Manage compliance with Texas Administrative Code security requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in incident response or threat analysis
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent
- Expertise in network security tools (Firewall, IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and hybrid environments
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and CIS Controls
- Ability to obtain and maintain Texas security clearance
- Proven experience leading crisis response teams
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
