Role Overview
In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced machine learning models and statistical analyses. Responsibilities
- Lead Data Analysis: Design and implement complex data analysis models to support government policy and service improvement initiatives.
- Model Development: Build and deploy machine learning algorithms to automate processes and predict outcomes with high accuracy.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including policy makers, IT developers, and project managers, to translate data findings into business requirements.
- Data Governance: Ensure all data handling processes adhere to strict UK government data privacy and security standards (GDPR).
- Technical Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and AI, and champion their adoption within the department.
- Reporting: Create clear, concise visualizations and reports to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: A Masterβs degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or a similar analytical role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy) and visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
- Methodologies: Strong understanding of statistical modeling, A/B testing, and Agile development methodologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
