Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain robust security protocols for federal networks and systems.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and mitigate potential threats.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to ensure system integrity.
- Manage user access controls, privilege accounts, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes.
- Ensure full compliance with FISMA, NIST, and other federal information security standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to respond to security incidents and develop incident response plans.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members on security best practices.
Qualifications
- Active Secret or Top Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or defense contracting IT environments.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and network security architecture.
- Experience with Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex security data and reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for briefing senior leadership.
