Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures to protect federal information systems.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security risks.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, including FISMA, NIST, and agency-specific security policies.
- Lead incident response efforts for security breaches and coordinate with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and stakeholders on security best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships for security tools and services, ensuring optimal performance and value.
- Prepare and present detailed security reports to senior leadership and compliance auditors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is mandatory for this role.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in federal cybersecurity or information assurance.
- Strong knowledge of federal frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and cloud security platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to executive stakeholders.
