Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex federal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and virtualization environments.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal security standards, specifically NIST 800-53 and FISMA regulations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control within Active Directory and federal identity management systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy software solutions and IT policies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators and support staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in systems administration within a federal or government contracting environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or GSEC are highly preferred.
- Deep technical expertise in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), firewalls, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
