Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced GIS solutions to support county-wide initiatives.
- Collaborate with urban planners, public health officials, and law enforcement to interpret spatial data and provide strategic insights.
- Manage and maintain the integrity of spatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with federal and state standards.
- Train and mentor junior GIS staff and cross-functional teams on best practices for geospatial analysis and tool usage.
- Prepare high-quality maps, charts, and interactive web maps for public presentations and executive reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, preferably within the public sector or government.
- Advanced proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Python scripting for automation.
- Strong understanding of SQL databases and RESTful web services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
