Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and forecasting for city infrastructure and economic development projects.
- Prepare complex budget proposals and ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to track performance metrics and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including city managers and department heads, to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for the City Council and executive leadership.
- Perform internal audits and risk assessments to ensure fiscal accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in government finance, budget analysis, or public sector accounting.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and compliance standards (e.g., GAAP, GASB).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
