Responsibilities
- Monitor and implement federal/state/local compliance regulations across 15+ city departments
- Conduct comprehensive audits and risk assessments for public sector operations
- Develop compliance training programs for 500+ municipal employees
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for city council and regulatory bodies
- Coordinate with external auditors and legal counsel during investigations
- Lead cross-functional teams in resolving compliance gaps and process improvements
- Stay updated on evolving regulatory requirements affecting municipal operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of government compliance or regulatory experience
- Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) designation required
- Advanced knowledge of Colorado Revised Statutes and Denver Municipal Code
- Proficiency with compliance management software (e.g., ComplyAssistant)
- Exceptional analytical and report-writing abilities
- Valid Colorado driver's license and ability to travel to city facilities
