Responsibilities
- Manage and administer the state pension plan, ensuring accurate processing of contributions, benefits, and retirement calculations.
- Conduct thorough audits of pension records and financial statements to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and support to retirees, employees, and HR personnel regarding pension eligibility and benefit inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Legal departments to implement policy changes and improve pension system efficiency.
- Prepare detailed reports on pension fund performance and status for executive leadership and the Board of Trustees.
- Monitor market trends to optimize investment strategies within the pension fund's guidelines.
- Ensure all data entry and system updates are performed with the highest level of accuracy and security.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in government pension administration, public sector finance, or actuarial science.
- Deep understanding of state and federal pension laws, including ERISA and Florida Statutes regarding public retirement.
- Strong proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office Suite, and pension management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Proven experience in providing customer service to retirees and stakeholders.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be able to pass a background check.
