Responsibilities
- Strategic Data Analysis: Lead the analysis of large-scale datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for government policy optimization.
- Policy Development: Draft evidence-based policy recommendations and briefing notes for senior ministers and civil servants.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, technical, and communications departments, to ensure alignment on strategic goals.
- Reporting & Visualization: Create compelling visual reports and dashboards using SQL and data visualization tools to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all data handling practices comply with UK government data protection regulations and cybersecurity standards.
- Project Management: Manage end-to-end projects from conception to delivery, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.
Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor's degree (2:1 or above) in Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a data analysis, policy research, or government role within the UK public sector.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data for diverse audiences.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of UK government frameworks, GDPR, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
