Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission
- Develop compelling, tailored grant proposals and applications exceeding $500K annually
- Collaborate with program directors to create budgets and impact narratives
- Manage grant reporting cycles ensuring compliance and donor stewardship
- Maintain accurate grant pipeline tracking in Salesforce CRM
- Lead prospect research and relationship cultivation with foundation officers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or related field
- 5+ years professional grant writing experience with $500K+ awards
- Proven success securing government and private foundation grants
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio samples required
- Advanced proficiency in grant databases (e.g., Candid, GrantStation)
- Experience managing complex multi-year grant cycles
- Knowledge of Virginia environmental funding landscape preferred
