Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission and funding priorities
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, budgets, and reports for diverse funding sources
- Cultivate relationships with program staff to gather compelling impact data and stories
- Manage complex application processes including compliance requirements and deadlines
- Analyze funding trends and recommend strategic grant acquisition approaches
- Maintain accurate grant tracking databases and reporting systems
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured annually
- Proven track record with federal, state, and foundation grant applications
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio of successful proposals
- Proficiency in grant management software (e.g., GrantStation, Little Green Light)
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit accounting and budget development
- Ability to translate complex program metrics into compelling narratives
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
